We are looking for an analytical, results-driven back-end developer who will work with teammembers to troubleshoot and improve current back-end applications and processes. As a Back-end Developer, you will be responsible for the server-side web application logic as well as forthe integration of the front-end part.If you have outstanding programming skills and a great passion for developing beautiful,innovative applications, then you will be the right fit for this job.
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
  • Write clean code to develop functional web applications
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
  • Gather and address technical and design requirements
  • Provide training and support to internal teams
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish
  • Objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience
  • Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends
  • Recording data and reporting it to proper parties, such as clients or leadership
  • Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices
  • Learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools
  • Should have knowledge and experience in JavaScript
  • AWS or other cloud experience is an added advantage
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or with a group
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Can I know about the hiring process at Magzter?
All applications are reviewed by the HR team in alignment with the requirements of the position applied for. Certain positions may require additional assessments, post which there will be a telephonic discussion. Shortlisted candidates are then called in for the interview process (online or face-to-face) with the hiring manager. Depending on the position, shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend multiple rounds of interviews as well. Every applicant receives a response from Magzter, regardless of whether they are offered a position or not.
How can I give my best shot at the interview?
We give utmost importance to applicants who do their home work and research about our company and the product. We would love to hear from you as to why you are motivated to join us. Prospective candidates might be quizzed in detail about our company and the product! Make sure to go through our app and website in detail prior to the interview. Also, cover letters, portfolios, well-formatted CVs and resumes will give you extra brownie points. Lastly, we urge you to apply only for the roles that align with your skills and experience.
After I apply, when can I expect to hear back?
Since we receive many applications for the same role, we usually need a few weeks to shortlist the candidates for the next round. You can expect a response within 2-3 weeks from the date of application.
